Ah yes, the woods here in Bavaria are filled with delicious raspberries these days, and my ex-wife has loads of exquisite black currents in her yard that have a lush, multifaceted taste — not sweet, not tart, instead just the satisfying dense mineralness of a well-cultivated wine. They intrigued me so much that I took to the kitchen and made six jars of jelly for the first time in my life. My luck that the bushes were so full I had over two pounds of currents in about ten minutes just from a few of the many branches!
