Caveat: Poem #1889 “The usual”

ㅁ
The power went out at just after six.
Day made a mix with the dusk,
rain made rust.

  1. Greetings Jared,
I like the way you think, I found your blog after meditating on Insight Timer (a thing I do every day to help me make sense of life) and someone had used the quote: ‘pereat mundus, fiat philosophia, fiat philosophus’ as their tag line. I love the sound of Latin but I only understand a few words, and those are mainly because of the etymological entanglement with the English language. Thanks to Duck Duck Go (my current search engine of choice) I came across your blog because you’d used this as one of your caveat discussions, which led me to learn even more. Ah, the beauty of the interlinking world via that internet, which means I haven’t had any breakfast yet because I get so immersed in it. I’ve now learned about Englyns too, and nonnets – although I vaguely remember these from English A level lessons in the 80s.
Anyway thank you for putting your thoughts out there, I used to have a blog myself but am currently not engaging in blogging because I wasn’t sure what the point was (apart from getting followers which seems possibly an empty trophy and I didn’t have many of those anyway). Now, I see itmay be as a way of keeping a diary (I formulated this possibility after reading yours) and that it doesn’t matter how many people read it, but it is a record of your own thoughts. I can see it might be worth it and I may revisit it once I’ve had breakfast.

By the way, I’m nearer to Eastbourne and Brighton than Margate but I guess the live traffic feed only recognises that I’m somewhere in the south of England, so that’s fine. Margate’s quite nice anyway.

    Nice meeting you.

    Sarah
